Cairo governorate is among the Egyptian governorates with only one city. Extending for 41.542 km, Cairo is located on the eastern bank of the river Nile, to its South is Al-Qalyubiyyah and Al-Sharqiyyah governorates, to the West Giza governorate, and to the East lies Suez governorate.
